About Us

Tyler Touchette

My name is Tyler Touchette, the owner of Cornwall CrossFit. My goal is to be in the best health possible…period. Ask anyone who comes here and they will all tell you the same. I take this whole crossfit thing pretty seriously!

I love strength training. I love challenging myself to improve in one way or another all the time. I believe the secret to life is growth. If you’re not getting stronger you’re getting weaker.

“Everyone can and ought to be strong” – russian proverb

Being strong is a choice. I choose to be strong and improve as much as I can in order to live a life filled with options at any age.

That can only be a good thing for anyone interested in joining. Cornwall CrossFit is not just another “gym”.

Why I think CrossFit is “The real deal”! – “Constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity”

All this means is that here at CrossFit we don’t like to waste time. We don’t walk around shmoozing and taking long winded journeys to the water fountain. We work out. We work out really hard. And we get stronger at each and every workout. We expose weaknesses and turn them into strengths. We use compound exercises (muti-muscle and joint movements) for 99% of all our movements. We take these exercises and execute them at the highest / safe intensity possible. Basically we take our workout seriously in order to drastically improve our health and thus – quality of life. Afterall, you only live once – why not enjoy it?

I study non-stop. I research constantly. I thrive to learn more and know more and I do this for my own benefit and yours. I attend courses regularly all over Canada and the U.S. in order to stay sharp and of course inspired.

Kyle Pichie

My name is Kyle Pichie and I am a trainer at Cornwall Crossfit. My biggest passion is training people and helping them uncover and understand what it means to be “fit”. I do this by using CrossFits philosophies and training principles. The CrossFit Community has a saying, “there’s a big difference between having a body that looks like it can perform a 3 minute Fran, and a body that CAN perform a 3 minute Fran”.

I did my first ever CrossFit Workout on December 18th 2007 while in my first year of College and I was up against the formidable “Fran”. Total time for the workout was 23minutes which I have shaved down to a 5:44min time since 2009. I went threw the bodybuilding phase while in high school and the countless reps, sets, set routines and workout days became very tiresome and boring and I needed a change quick. Crossfit has opened my eyes to what it really means to be in great shape mentally and physically. It is for that reason why I love sharing this new “lifestyle” with my clients, family and friends.

On January 27 and 28 I took my first big step into the Crossfit Community and received my Crossfit Level 1 Certification. I met with amazing Coaches and fellow trainers who all shared the same love for this universal program. The knowledge I gained from those two days is much appreciated and will stick with me for a very long time to come. I also plan on getting my Level 2 Cert. in the near future along with other Certifications Crossfit has put together.

Crossfit isn’t easy. It’s sometimes unpleasant, uncomfortable, painful and at the same time absolutely amazing. There may not be a way to describe how miserable and exhausted you feel at the end of some workouts, but on a positive note, I couldn’t feel anymore alive on the ground, winded and lying in a puddle of my own sweat knowing I did my best.
