Announcement: NO paleo challenge this weekend. Sorry folks, too busy with the Island!! Soone enough. Remember – You can be measured and weighed any time – just ask! Paleo isn’t something you do for a few weeks. It’s a sub-culture / lifestyle…

Nicole’s Story…
Nicole has been a member from the start. It takes time to realize the importance of nutrition. It also takes time to figure out the best way for your body to run at top speed. Of course she has fallen off the wagon – but only to jump right back on.
Good for you Nicole! You’re a BADASS!!
Five months later, after 4-5 days of Crossfit a week, and the few Paleo Challenges I’ve participated in – I managed to lose 20lbs. I stayed at 140lbs for a while – partly because I took November off from Crossfit due to other obligations and partly because I fell off the Paleo bandwagon.
December, I found out I qualified for a convention that my employer puts on every year. I was going to Mexico!!! I wanted to be my healthiest and leanest for my trip to Mexico so I asked Tyler what I could do to accomplish this goal.
Here is what he said: walk and do Crossfit, eat plenty of fish oil, eat organic food and do intermittent fasts 2x per week (16hours). I thought to myself – okay, I can do this.
Before the Christmas break, I followed Paleo about 70/30 and I tried a few days of fasting and lost 2lbs.
January 4th is when I got really serious. My goal is to follow Paleo 100% until I leave for Mexico.
For the last 7 days:
• Ate only when hungry. Did not pay attention to the time.
• 100% Paleo (organic when I could – it’s hard in this town) – ate meat & veges mostly. When I couldn’t have meat I substituted with eggs (omega 3) or protein shake (highest grade)
• Fruit: Berries and the occasional banana.
• Did not have any sugar or caffeine (except what is in Green Tea)
• Did not have one drop of alcohol
• Crossfit Monday and Friday (I’m usually a 4-5 day a week kinda girl – but the Filthy 50 killed me)
• Every morning took 2 Omega 3, 1 probiotic and colostrum spray, every night 1 oz of ionix supreme (fights damaging free radicals)
• Tuesday and Saturday did a fast. For example: Ate a big Paleo dinner Monday night and didn’t eat anything until Tuesday for dinner . (post-fast dinner was Bacon, Eggs and Cashews)
• Didn’t obsess on the water intake. Pretty much drank when I was thirsty.
• I’m a big cheese eater – and I did have 2 omelettes with crumbled feta (post-fast days) and 1 salad with crumbled feta on Friday night.
• When I was hungry at night (which was not often) I’d have a handful of cashews & a tea.
• Recording everything on www.fitday.com: weight goal, food intake, journal, mood etc.
• Result: Monday morning I weighed 138.8 lbs – Sunday Morning I weighed 133.2 lbs. Total of 5.6lbs in one week. I feel lighter, feel happier, clearer – and today I noticed my body composition change which is the most important thing of all. I did measure myself on Monday January 4th – and will be recording my measurements again on January 21st at the end of the 3 week period.
This was seriously not hard. Fitday (and Tyler) held me accountable. I was satisfied in terms of food and really was not hungry. Looking forward to living Paleo forever!!

Great post Nicole!!
Good Job Nicole… I hope you enjoy your trip to Mexico… you truly deserve it!!!
Holy smokes, isn’t this one AMAZING article! PEOPLE read it already! This lifestyle is DOABLE and everyone should be doing it! Find your reasons to stay motivated, write them down, and proceed with the best decision ever made in your life! It WILL make a different, but compliance is everything. You have great resources to draw from at the gym, PLEASE use them!
Nicole – I’m gonna make myself a little late for work this morning but I definitely had to respond to your generosity in sharing your experience with everyone. You ROCK! Thanks to your will to do better for yourself (which everyone deserves) you have inspired many people to tweek their nutrition efforts. I don’t think I’ve had the privilege of meeting you yet, but I will definitely be looking to personally congratulate you.
A great big THANK-YOU for putting yourself out there!! Something I’ve learned about Paleo — Don’t let yourself go hungry, that’s when you’re most likely to stray. Always be ready for those social moments when temptation may strike!
Looks good on you Nicole — YOU ROCK!!
This is fantastic. I am also going to Mexico in three weeks and have decided to get very serious. Thanks for sharing and it’s great to see the results of what you can achieve:)
